Sub: Act against the anti-Christian movie – “Who’s There?”

We endorse and support The CSF protest against the advertisement and the movie “Who’s There?” which has deeply hurt our religious sentiments. Is it possible to show a man stabbing any god – Allah, Shiva, Buddha…? Then why should the Christian God be subject to such treatment? The advertisement does not carry the certification (U / A) and under Rule 38 of Cinematograph (Certification) Rules 1983, such non compliance is a cognizable and non-bailable offence under section 7 of Cinematograph Act 1952.

Such irresponsible films are not only highly provocative and blasphemous, but will also give a bad image to India in the international community, where it has a fair name. Is the Christian God to be used to sell a movie for the producers to reap commercial profit? Incidentally, all those known to be involved – Ezaj Ahmed (Director), Washim Sheikh (Producer) and KA Jauhar (Advertiser) – have Muslim names, which is likely to create enmity between the minority communities. Who benefits from such blasphemous material? The Censor Board by giving a certificate to the film has violated several of the 5B (2) guidelines too.

Such advertisements and movies only damage the secular fabric of the country and as such disturb communal harmony, for which action needs to be taken under sections 153A, 153B & 505 (1 & 2) of the Indian Penal Code, section 295 of the Criminal Procedure Code and other laws.

We therefore urge you to act against the movie-makers, get the advertisement withdrawn and withdraw the certificate, as it shows Christianity and the clergy in bad light. This will serve as a deterrent and ensure such films are not made in the future.

Thanking you, with regards,

Yours Sincerely,

(Your Name)
